Kontakt sample instrument
Quarantones Choir
A sample-based choir for the full version of Kontakt, built from fragile vocal performances with a soft but slightly damaged character.
Product details
Quarantones Choir was built from professional vocalists recorded during illness. Instead of polished choir vowels and clean sustained notes, the source recordings capture rough, tired, airy, and cracked voices.
The instrument grew from an interest in the unusual timbres that appear when a voice is unwell: notes pull apart, the air changes, and unexpected overtones create a strange richness.
The result is a soft, beautiful vocal instrument with a slightly damaged character, designed for composition and sound design.
